JTB Hawaii, Inc. as Community Member

As a member of our local community, JTB Hawaii, Inc. takes responsibility and commitment to support the following activities of two major foundations:

1) JTB Goodwill Foundation

A non-profit Hawaii corporation formed by Japan Travel Bureau International, Inc. (JTBI), the Foundation’s purpose is to promote cultural, educational and athletic exchanges among the Pacific nations, to make contributions to other charitable organizations, and to engage in other charitable activities.

Hawaii Educators’ Mission to Japan
With full cooperation from the Honolulu Japanese Consulate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, the JTB Goodwill Foundation has sent 90 educators to Japan (as of 2007) over the last 17 years.


Japan Wizard Co-sponsorship
JTB Goodwill Foundation co-sponsors the "Japan Wizards Competition" that is designed to teach high school students the lifelong learning skills of teamwork, how to research, personal responsibility, and operating under pressure. Teams of three students are tested on an extensive range of topics, which include arts and culture, daily life, economics and government, history, geography, transportation, sports, language, and values and beliefs. The winning teams are invited to Japan on an all-expense trip to Japan to experience first hand what they have learned in the classroom.

Goodwill and Charity Golf Tournament
This fund-raising tournament has been conducted over 26 years.

2) The Honolulu Festival Foundation

The Honolulu Festival Foundation was established in 2000 as a nonprofit corporation under Chapter 415B of the Hawaii Revised Statues. The Foundation is strictly limited to charitable, educational, and cultural exchange purposes.

The primary functions of the Honolulu Festival Foundation are to sponsor, maintain, develop, improve, and protect the annual Honolulu Festival. By holding its activities, the Foundation continues to perpetuate the culture, customs, and traditions of Asians and Pacific Islanders. The Festival provides a unique opportunity for residents of Hawaii and visitors from the mainland to experience the cultural practices and traditional art forms of Japan and other Pacific Rim countries.

JTB USA, Inc. - Honolulu Office

JTB Hawaii’s affiliated company, JTB USA, Inc., a US subsidiary of JTB Corp., is a full-service travel management company meeting the needs of all travelers.
