FLEET MAINTENANCE MANAGER

    Under general supervision of the Travel Plaza Director of Operations, manages the maintenance operations and general conditions of the mechanical and body and fender repair of all types of gasoline and diesel driven automotive equipment. Ensures the effective and efficient quality of maintenance operations.

    Requirements

    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
    1. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in automotive/equipment mechanic trade or;
    2. Two years experience as a lead automotive technician first class mechanic; or
    3. Have four years in lower classification or equivalent experience; and
    4. Have previous management experience.
    5. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) training and certification required.

    Licenses:

RESERVATIONS & SCHEDULING ASSOCIATE

  • Description

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general direction of the Travel Plaza Transportation Reservations Manager, receives all vehicle reservation bookings and movements for inbound and outbound Japanese and local tours. Records and distributes orders for transportation movements upon request by JTB Hawaii Travel, LLC and other vendors. Assigns vehicles and jobs to drivers and ensures that all movements run smoothly.

    PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: RESERVATIONS
    1. Reviews, changes, adjusts, cancels and finalizes all vehicle reservation bookings for inbound and outbound Japanese tour groups and local tour groups, one day prior to the actual booking date.
    2. Ensures that all reservations and bookings via Maui tour agents are created and kept until one day prior to arrival movement.
    3. Makes adjustments due to changes in transportation order trip sheet and for new requests or cancellations. Inputs and updates all changes in computer system and finalizes all arrangements made one day prior for Group, FIT, PCC, Kualoa, and special tour arrivals.
    4. Compiles each day’s Trip Sheet work, including future booking faxes from Maui tour agents and westbound preliminary bookings.
    5. Finalizes and communicates reservation and booking information to TPT dispatch, tour agents, restaurants, National Park Services, optional tour vendors, and other related business partners.
    6. Creates new Trip Sheet when receiving last-minute bookings (less than the day of or prior to) arrival. Updates the order by inputting information on the computer as needed and maintains files.
    7. Issues meal vouchers, parking vouchers and any necessary passes for each group.
    8. Communicates with and assists customers, group coordinators, tour escorts, business partners, and JTB offices in both Honolulu and Maui by referring to the preliminary order sheet.
    9. Provides necessary information to TPT dispatch, vendors, tour agents or affiliated companies.

    SCHEDULING
    1. Assigns vehicles and jobs to drivers and ensures that all movements run smoothly. Coordinates movements with Dispatch.
    2. Coordinates activities of operators of motor coaches, mini buses, vans and limousines to transport passengers according to schedule.
    3. Prepares schedule, determines number of vehicles and trips to be run, assigns vehicle operators to runs. Prepares schedule indicating times or arrival and departure of vehicles at drop off points or indicating where transfer passengers can be picked up.
    4. Records movement and location of vehicles and drivers to inform other departments regarding current schedules and routes.

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Assists Dispatch with irregular or special transportation movements.
    2. Occasionally meets with tour agents, tour escorts and business partners to check on quality of service.
    3. Performs other duties as required.

    Requirements

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    Skills: Ability to plan, organize and assign the activities of the drivers. Basic computer skills and ability to work on software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Macro.
    Knowledge: Knowledge of the tour industry, tour movements, arrangements (wedding, school, specialty). Working knowledge of Hawaii’s tourism infrastructure, understanding of different countries’ tour characteristics and needs.
    Education/Training: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.

    PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Coordinates activities of operators of motor coaches, limousines, vans, and buses to transport passengers according to schedule.
    2. Prepares schedule; determines number of vehicles and trips to be run; assigns vehicle operators to runs. Prepares schedules indicating times of arrival and departure of vehicles at drop off points or where transfer passengers can be picked up.
    3. Records movement and location of vehicles and drivers to inform other departments regarding current schedules and routes.
    4. Receives telephone or radio reports of accidents, delays, equipment breakdowns and other operating or maintenance difficulties.
    5. Reports difficulties and dispatches orders to other divisions/departments to maintain or restore service and schedules.
    6. Dispatches extra vehicles and emergency crews to scene of accident or breakdown, advising them of location of trouble.
    7. Maintains log of scheduled runs, numbers of vehicles, and names of drivers.
    8. Records calls and emergencies.
    9. Makes report of all accidents.

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Completely trained in data input and two other areas which include E-Shift, ME-Shift, M-Shift, L-Shift, with least amount of supervision in trained areas.
    2. Performs other duties as required.
