RADIO DISPATCHER

  • Description

    Under general direction of Travel Plaza Transportation’s Dispatch Operations Manager (Oahu) or Manager (Maui) and other dispatch management personnel, receives, records, and distributes requests for transportation movements upon request by JTB Hawaii, Inc. Assigns vehicles and jobs to drivers and ensures that all movements run smoothly.

    Requirements

    PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Coordinates activities of operators of motor coaches, limousines, vans, and buses to transport passengers according to schedule.
    2. Prepares schedule; determines number of vehicles and trips to be run; assigns vehicle operators to runs. Prepares schedules indicating times of arrival and departure of vehicles at drop off points or where transfer passengers can be picked up.
    3. Records movement and location of vehicles and drivers to inform other departments regarding current schedules and routes.
    4. Receives telephone or radio reports of accidents, delays, equipment breakdowns and other operating or maintenance difficulties.
    5. Reports difficulties and dispatches orders to other divisions/departments to maintain or restore service and schedules.
    6. Dispatches extra vehicles and emergency crews to scene of accident or breakdown, advising them of location of trouble.
    7. Maintains log of scheduled runs, numbers of vehicles, and names of drivers.
    8. Records calls and emergencies.
    9. Makes report of all accidents.

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Completely trained in data input and two other areas which include E-Shift, ME-Shift, M-Shift, L-Shift, with least amount of supervision in trained areas.
    2. Performs other duties as required.

Safety Coordinator

  • Description

    Primary Responsibilities: Under general direction of Travel Plaza Transportation’s Safety Manager, supports the Safety Department through Department of Transportation (DOT) file maintenance and self-audits. Also helps to maintain, track, and follow up on various other Safety related areas of responsibility. Essential Functions: 1. Under the direction of the Safety Manager, create and maintain driver DOT files in accordance with DOT rules and regulations. 2. Under the direction of the Safety Manager, maintain Safety Department files so that they are in compliance with State and Federal audit guidelines. 3. Maintain accident files under the guidance of the Safety Manager and follows up on insurance claims. 4. Reconcile billings from vendors for Drug Testing and Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Driver Physicals. 5. Create Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) for Drivers in accordance with established company procedures for advancement. 6. Conduct vehicle inspections and make operational checks before/after the trip. Report any mechanical problems to Vehicle Safety Specialist in writing on the Driver’s Inspection Report for proper vehicle maintenance.

CSR&Field Dispatch Supervisor (Japanese/English)
